Irene Shere and Bill Cooper had an idea for an app, but needed help finding a developer. They turned to iPhoneAppQuotes, one of the AppMuse® app development quote sites. After getting some basic information from Irene about the app idea, we sent their request to three experienced developers in our network. Irene and Bill interviewed the developers and later chose one of them to develop their app. We heard from Irene again this week – their app launched in January and is now available in the Apple App Store!
The app is iBlankie and we’re told it’s quite the buzz in parenting circles – iBlankie is being recommended by parenting magazines, mommy bloggers, and other parenting apps. Here’s an excerpt from the press release announcing iBlankie:
Every mother that has ever struggled to understand why their child is so angry will be relieved to know that they are not alone in their plight and that there is a solution; it’s called iBlankie. iBlankie’s creator Irene Shere says that parents all over the world struggle with the same child behavior issues, and there are some fairly simple strategies to combat issues such as anger management, separation anxiety, and even sibling rivalry.
“Parenting is like a decades-long car trip with your child, a journey filled with deep potholes, quirky roadside attractions, and awesome natural wonders, all punctuated by the question, ’Are we there yet?’” says Shere. “Now iBlankie is there when you need a little roadside assistance with an instruction manual in your glove compartment, a security blanket over your worries and a parenting road map on your mobile device to show you where to go and how to get there.”
And here’s the App Store description of the app:
iBlankie provides an instruction manual for your young child’s development. Raising and teaching children can be both challenging and rewarding and many times parents wish for a manual to carry around with them. iBlankie fills that void by providing you with proven strategies and techniques to manage your child’s development with downloadable monthly newsletters and articles for parents-on- the-go with an iPhone, iPad or iPod. The articles will be stored locally on the device, this way the app will continue to operate even when Wi-Fi or cell service is unavailable. This also helps data transfer rates by only downloading data when really necessary. Upon startup, this app checks if there is a newer version and will download the newer version and save it.
Having developed and launched their app, Irene and Bill are now working hard on marketing (we also sent Irene a free article we wrote on app marketing) They’re getting good exposure, including in Parenting OC magazine and Learnvest, an ezine out of the UK. Irene also had some kind words for AppMuse and the developer we referred her to:
We want to thank you for recommending the company that we worked with to develop the iBlankie app. We were very, very pleased with them on every level–their professionalism, the artwork, the software development, and their strong partnership in working with Apple and all that entails. We couldn’t have asked for a better app developer experience–on a scale of 1 to 10, we would rate them an 11.
We love hearing from customers like Irene and Bill. Thanks and congratulations on getting your app developed and in the App Store!
